From an early age, he had a curiosity in various creative pursuits - creating and designing things from writing short stories, building block fortresses, painting, and playing chess. He began playing piano in early elementary school, begrudgingly at first, and love happened when he began composing a few years later at age 11. It was then that Tyler felt the immense joy music could evoke and express. Throughout his pre and teen years, Tyler explored various styles of music in different environments, from after-school rock band, playing piano in his high school jazz ensemble, and learning the craft of songwriting at boarding school.

In May 2019, Tyler graduated from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Professional Music - concentrations in Composition, Film Scoring, and CWP (Contemporary Writing and Production). At Berklee, he maintained piano as his principle instrument, studying under various professors, and played in several mixed-styled ensembles.

In Spring 2020, Tyler released his “official” cinematic debut album, entitled Unfinished Portrait (embed link), which features eight original solo piano compositions of ranging styles and musical colors. It is a revitalized collection of his best older and newer piano work to date.
